Learning Center
Our mission is to provide members of Beth Torah and their children with learning opportunities and experiences that will create love and respect for our heritage while leading to lifelong commitments to Jewish practices.
At the Learning Center we offer classes for grades K-10. For 11th and 12th grade we participate in the ATID program, a community-wide, Conservative movement-sponsored high school program held at Levine Academy. Learning Center classes are held on Wednesdays from 4:45 PM to 6:45 PM, three Sundays of each month from 9 AM to 12 PM, and one Shabbat morning each month, Shabbat B’ Yachad from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Our curriculum concentrates on a combination of Siddur/prayer book Hebrew, Jewish observances, Jewish life cycles and customs, Jewish history and teaching about Israel. We are proud that many of our post Bar and Bat Mitzvah students regularly lead Shabbat and Holiday services.
Ruth Schor has been the Educational Director of the Beth Torah Learning Center since 1997. Ruth was born and raised in Israel. Since coming to the United States in 1979, Ruth has been involved in Jewish education throughout the Dallas area. Through her leadership and training, Ruth strives to instill in the students and their families a sense of love, appreciation and commitment toward Jewish learning and practices.
