See below for information on our Tikkun Leil Shavuot, ways to honor your loved ones through Yizkor, and our annual Blessing of the Babies!

Mazel Tov on the wonderful blessing of your new addition! We are thrilled to invite you and your family to a very special New Baby Shabbat on Saturday, May 31st!

As we approach the holiday of Shavuot, a time when we celebrate the "first fruits" of the harvest, we also take a moment to honor the "new fruits" of our community — the beautiful babies who have joined our lives this past year!

During the Shabbat service, all caregivers, parents, and grandparents are welcome to join us on the bimah for a special Aliyah and blessing. It will be a joyful opportunity to celebrate your child's arrival, recognize the blessings of new life, and share in the sweetness of this season together with our community.

We hope you’ll join us for this heartwarming gathering, full of singing, blessing, and community warmth. Your presence would make the celebration complete!

Deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, May 28th. Please let us know if you plan to attend by RSVPing to us at ritual@congregationbethtorah.org.

Celebrating the memory of your loved ones with food
Our next Yizkor is Shavuot, Tuesday, June 3, 2025. CBT is offering congregants the opportunity to include dairy or pareve recipes in the day’s kiddush lunch or dessert oneg that are associated with memories of your loved ones.

If your father loved herring, if your mother made the best noodle kugel, we want you to have the opportunity to share those dishes and memories with our congregation.

This opportunity is available all year-round when yizkor is said: The eighth day of Passover, the second day of Shavuot, Yom Kippur, and Shemini Atzeret.

Complete the form below to learn how you can remember your loved one through sponsoring our kitchen team, cooking in our kitchen, or more!

Congregants have several options:

1)You can book a time to make the recipe in our Shul kitchen with the approval and supervision of one of the congregants who has been trained to supervise Kashrut.

2)You can submit your favorite easy pareve or dairy recipe, and we will endeavor to recreate it.

At the oneg table, there will be a card indicating the name of the person in whose memory this dish has been included.

For example: Herring in memory of H.S. Ruekberg - Banana Cake in memory of Bertha Mindle

The Shavout (day 2) menu will be selected by May 18th.You will be notified the dish you submitted will be included in the oneg.

The next Yizkor with a meal is Shemini Atzeret, October 14, 2025.

If you have any questions, please text Abby Mindle at (214) 783-5996, or email the kitchen team at kitchen@congregationbethtorah.org.
