Large enough to serve you…small enough to know you

Our SATO team...

...works to help those need within our greater community by providing opportunities for congregants to get involved.

With The Network of Community Ministries as our strategic partner, we work to improve the lives and welfare of the Richardson community by hosting food drives, diaper drives, and clothing drives.

Karen Leynor Mitzvah Day

Our annual day of community service, Karen Leynor Mitzvah Day honors the memory of the wife of our former rabbi, Jeffrey Leynor זצ"ל. Karen, a social worker who truly enjoyed helping others, died tragically at the age of 38 from a brain aneurysm. She went out of her way to make a difference in this world.

On KLMD, congregants of all ages participate in a variety projects. Off–site projects may include cooking and playing games with residents of Chai Community Homes, transcribing oral histories at the Dallas Jewish Historical Society, playing bingo with the residents at Golden Acres, serving lunch to clients at the Salvation Army, or other worthwhile activities. On–site projects may include knitting infant caps for premature babies, hosting game parties at Beth Torah for residents of youth shelters, writing letters and cards to send to military personnel and first responders, polishing the silver ritual ornaments used at Beth Torah, or a special project that involves the entire congregation.

The specific projects vary from year to year, so watch the Family Record and Enews for the latest details.
