The national cuisine of Texas met the dietary laws of the Bible in the first Dallas Kosher BBQ Championship October 25, 2015 and has been going strong every year since. Under the supervision of rabbinical experts and the world–renowned Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), teams from around Texas and beyond compete in a delectable, family–friendly event that draws an ever larger crowd each year.

Why is This Competition Different?
Obviously, a kosher barbecue competition does not include pork. There are other significant differences...

Beef ribs are included in the competition in addition to chicken, turkey, and beef brisket.

All grills, smokers, and utensils are provided by the organizers to ensure they are kosher. This actually encourages participation, as competitors do not have to haul their own equipment.

Meats, condiments, and spices are provided as well for the same reason. Competitors may bring unopened packages of products that are certified kosher.

All preparations are done on site under the supervision of KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) officials and kosher authorities. This increases the time that competitors spend together, adding to camaraderie and encouraging future participation.
